The change of consumer to community

I am in the process of evaluating the shift of the traditional consumer psyche when they are cityzens of the online space. It is intriguing that many have not one but many complexed second lives online. The self proclaimed Marketing gurus still fantasize of ways to identify consumer groups to target brands, whilst the world is leaving them and their poor clients behind. More about this later....
This is a useful segmentation which I followed from a blog posting which was on Jeremiah Owyang blog.
